Why Now?

Our youth are seeing racial, social, and economical inequality at their doorsteps and at the forefront of our media, while we face a global battle against a COVID-19 pandemic. This presents a tremendous need and opportunity for a unified group of successful P.H.A.S.E. 1 Alumni to step forward as Elite 1 leaders and mentors for youth in our communities locally and worldwide to assist in overcoming the challenges.

Vision

To develop an Alumni Association with loyal life-long ambassadors who use their collective talents, skills, and experiences as leaders of change in laws, rules, culture, and service to the community.

Mission

To further P.H.A.S.E. 1’s efforts to assist the journey of all members of our communities through activities that facilitate their social and professional growth, preparing them to become greater community leaders (Elite 1’s).

P.H.A.S.E 1 Alumni Committee

Objective: Provide oversight, guidance, participation in raising awareness of alumni initiatives, creating events, raising funds, and in general to support the work of the P.H.A.S.E. 1 Youth Association.

Annual Events

P.H.A.S.E. 1 Alumni events will help fulfill the strategic goals of our alumni committee. Therefore, events are selected for their ability to move the community closer to achieving its overall purpose.

​

P.H.A.S.E. 1 Alumni Committee will host the following three (3) annual major events to service the community and raise funds.

​

1. Beyond Basketball Expo - job and career fair for a youth at all levels of basketball to expose them to careers beyond the basketball court after they have stopped playing. - September/October

 

2. Journey Awards Gala - awarding of scholarships and grant while celebrating the achievements of dedicated members of the local and national basketball community at a formal awards ceremony - June/July

 

3. All Canada Classic Charity Alumni Game -  fundraising event to bring together alumni and the community for a greater cause. - July/August

Over the past 25 years through P.H.A.S.E. 1 and it's predecessor organizations co-founded by Wayne Dawkins, thousands of youth have been assisted on their Journey of an Elite 1 and are now adults equipped to be great role models for the next generation (Click here to view our History page). Many of our alumni have been building their own brands and companies and could benefit from a strong network of alumni.  By joining P.H.A.S.E. 1's Alumni association you will help create greater opportunities for all members and youth in our communities.
