P.H.A.S.E. 1's mission is to have a covered basketball court ready at Herbert Morrison Tech HS for the summer of 2022 and launch with free community basketball camps! Our vision is to continue selecting schools and parks around the island to provide with better infrastructure, teaching tools, and training equipment.

The condition of their home basketball court is a big hindrance to the growth of their players; it is outdoors, uncovered, and concrete. Players are very susceptible to injuries on the court, and games and training sessions are cut short whenever it rains.

“Western Jamaica would benefit overall, because when it rains there is no basketball, with an indoor facility, we can train and hold matches anytime we want.” - Dave Black, coach at Herbert Morrison Technical High School

Our fundraising efforts to refurbish the basketball court for Herbert Morrison Tech will make it the first school with a covered court and lights to facilitate training in Western Jamaica. The hope is that the improved infrastructure will inspire the youth to continue playing basketball on the island and lead to greater opportunities for them.
